Frequently Asked Questions

Planning a trip to downtown Toronto? Our Clarence Park Hostel FAQ has you covered — from check-in times and parking info to dog stays and laundry days. Whether you're staying in a dorm or a private room, you'll find everything you need to make your stay smooth, comfy, and memorable 💚

Our front desk is open from 8 AM to 12 AM. Check-in time begins at 3:00 PM and ends at 12:00 AM. Please be aware that our front desk closes at 12:00 AM. For late check-ins, a fee of $15 will be applied for after-hours service.

Check-out time is strictly at 11:00 AM on the scheduled day of departure. Late check-outs will incur a fee of $15 per half-hour. Guests are welcome to use our facilities, including luggage storage, on the day of check-out, but all belongings must be removed from the room by check-out time.

Payment is due at check-in and can be made using cash, credit card, or debit card.

Upon check-in, guests will see a 6% Municipal Accommodation Tax (MAT) added to their bill, with the 13% federal and Ontario Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) applied on top of both the room rate and the MAT.

We offer a limited number of parking spots onsite. These are available on a first come, first served basis — no reservations. If we're full, we'll gladly help you find nearby parking options.

Guests must be at least 18 years old to stay at our hostel unless accompanied by an adult, stay in a private room, or rent out the entire dormitory.

Upon check-in, guests must present a valid government-issued photo ID, such as a driver's license or passport. Student cards or Ontario Health cards cannot be accepted. Photocopies or photographs of ID will not be considered valid.

Please note that no reservation will be confirmed without a credit card and a valid ID.

Dormitory beds are for single occupancy only; additional guests are not permitted in the beds.

Guests will be subject to financial penalties for excessive mess or damage to linens.

Store your bags with us between 8:00 AM and 12:00 AM — staff access only for security. Just note we can’t store luggage overnight after check-out, and space is limited (first come, first served).

Each bunk has its own locker. Bring your own lock or pick one up at the front desk.

All personal belongings are the sole responsibility of the guest. This includes vehicles parked on the hostel premises and any items within them.

Neither the hostel nor our staff assumes any liability for loss or damage to personal items.

Guests are advised to secure their valuables and use lockers. We do not provide guard or safekeeping services for guests' belongings. Insurance for personal items brought to the hostel is the guest's responsibility.

Any property damage will be charged to the credit card on file.

Because we’re located in a beautiful heritage building, there’s no elevator on site — access is by stairs only. This may not be ideal for guests with mobility needs. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out — we’re happy to help!

We adore dogs! You’re welcome to bring your pup — just make sure you’ve booked a private room. A one-time $50 cleaning fee applies. Please note: we only accept dogs, not other pets. Reach out with any questions — we’re here to help!

Washrooms: Every room has its own dedicated bathroom. In dorms, washrooms are shared only with the folks in your room. Private rooms get their own.

Towels: Yep, they’re free. Need a fresh one? Just trade your used towel at reception.

We’ve got washers and dryers on-site for $8/load — detergent included. There’s also an ironing station to keep your outfits sharp.

Guests can stay up to 14 nights. Need more time? Chat with our managers — extensions are sometimes available based on availability.

Standard Rate: Cancel without fee 48 hours before the check-in. After that, we’ll charge for the first night.

Non-Refundable: No refunds, changes, or cancellations — thanks for understanding!
